How Does Olive Oil Stack Up To Others?

By Robert Sutter

I believe that olive oil has been highly regarded as one of the finest and for good reasons. That being said, there are other kinds of oil to take into account for the sake of culinary purposes and I feel as though it is worth going over what makes the olive variety so great by comparison. Is it because of its fat content or is it something much more than that? Regardless of what the case may be, this is how the oil that comes from olives manages to compete.

As authorities on the matter like Flavor Your Life can attest to, this is one type of oil that contains monounsaturated fats. What this means is that the body is able to utilize "good" fats, which is important to consider since the body does require fat content, regardless of how individuals might immediately think of the term. Olive oil is great for this purpose, so it's no wonder that so many people decide to turn to this option. In terms of healthful benefits, it's a product worth incorporating.

Of course, you may look at oils which have saturated fats and become immediately turned off by what they can do. However, there are actually a couple of benefits to consider with coconut oil, for example, which has these fats put into place. It can help treat dry skin, for example, and the fact that it can bring down protein loss when talking about the hair means that the locks will be that much stronger. As a result, to say that other oils are worthless would be something of a stretch.

Olive oil is the type of product that has countless uses, if you would like to know. Outside of its culinary benefits, it is worth noting how it can come into effect for the sake of cosmetics, the oil type in question providing strong assistance for skincare. Did you also know that this kind of oil can prove useful as a polish of sorts, specifically against wooden surfaces in order to bring new life to them? If you ask me, this product is more than able to prove itself.

Olive oil is one of those products which is able to be utilized in various ways and it's hard to deny such a claim. Loaded with monounsaturated fats and antioxidants, it is apparent that this type of oil has been given the nickname of "liquid gold" for a reason. While there are still those who may be on the fence about purchasing the oil in question, I do not think that this should be the case in the long run. There are too many benefits for it to be ignored.
