The days of healthy food tasting like an experiment are long gone. Burgers, desserts and other so called sinful treats have been recreated so they have more nutrients but still have the flavor of the classics. When it comes to meals that are easy to prepare, as well as the waistline, frozen vegetable burgers are becoming the new staple.

The days of healthy food being bland are long gone. And this includes so called junk food and snacks. The varieties of burger patties filled with nutritious vegetables and grains have become so popular that many have converted from meat altogether. This could be due to the fact that these can be prepared in less time than some meat varieties and are just as versatile in cooking styles, including grilling.

Back in the day, most frozen entrees were laden with chemicals that helped extend the shelf life for months but the taste left something to be desired. Eating foods that are processed naturally not only taste better but are best for daily consumption. Many vegetarian food manufacturers operate by this standard because they want to ensure that their products are tasty every time.

The great thing about veggie burgers is their versatility. They can be dressed up with ketchup, mayonnaise, or other favorite condiment. Although the patty already contains vegetables, lettuce, onion slices, and tomatoes may be added for extra flavor. Cheese is a good addition also and makes a healthy patty melt.

The curious should look at the many flavors of veggie burgers on the market now. Once they find a flavor that appeases their palate, they can add condiments of their choice. While patties can be baked, grilled or seared in a pan, everyone has a preference. If not baking, it is best to cover burger with a little oil so that it will not stick to the grill or other surface.

Cooking an entire package is a good idea if someone is cooking for another family member or may eat for lunch in the next day or two. It costs less than eating out and is filling without feeling heavy. Once a preferred method of preparation is set, these veggie patties can be reheated in a few minutes.

Recommended sides are a half of a baked potato, crunchy salad, or fried vegetable spears. More people are choosing sweet potato fries over regular fries because of some of the health benefits. Sweet potatoes have more antioxidants and fiber than white potatoes. As a way to cut more calories and fat from a meal, sweet potatoes can also be baked instead of deep fried.

This type of eating has many health benefits and is easy on the wallet. Preparation is easy and there are not as many long term risks that are brought on with ongoing meat consumption. On a final not, it proves that anyone can enjoy their favorite foods without the guilt.
